We will get into wheat, spelt, quinoa, buckwheat , millet, amaranth, oats, rice and barley- and some seeds- flax, chia, sesame etc. For those wanting to learn more about healthy grains this is a great class for you AND for those intolerant of gluten this is a great way to learn about all the other yummy things you can have!!! I will teach you everything I can about them!! Nutritional content and how to prepare and grind them. Also I will show you how to SPROUT them and how to grow your own Wheat Grass! Wheat grass is wonderfully healthy to drink or for cuts- YES cuts!! Wheat grass has lots of uses and is a GREAT addition to any food storage. You want to know how to use this!!!
I think you may be a little surprised what you can do with all of these and how yummy they can be!! I will also email you lots of handouts and a great little cookbook of some favorite dishes with all kinds of grains.
At the end of this session the participant will be able to:
- Explain why white flour is not a healthy choice
- Know a variety of grains, their nutritional content and ways to prepare them
- Know how to sprout grains and incorporate them into a diet and great nutrition they offer
- Know how to grow wheat grass and use it in a diet
Registration will begin March 1, 2011.
The discounted early bird registration price is $47 per person and is available until June 2, 2011. After that date, the conference is offered to you at the full price of $60 with the registration deadline being June 20, 2011.
You will be able to choose 5 of the 54 classes being offered to fill your session time slots. Each session runs 90 minutes, with a 30 minute break between classes, starting at 8:30 am, 10:30 am, 12:30 pm, 2:30 pm, and 4:30 pm.
Class sizes are limited to between 20-60 students, depending on the classroom size and based on previous years numbers, are expected to fill fast.
